MTA Moving Forward With Congestion Pricing

Congestion pricing in Manhattan could begin as soon as early 2023.

The MTA said it’s moving forward with a plan to charge drivers traveling south of 60th Street. It’s expected to generate $1 billion a year to pay for improvements to the subway system.

A board is being appointed to determine how much the toll will be and whether there will be any discounts or exemptions.

Federal approval is still needed, but the MTA expects that to happen soon.
