A wild video shows a teenage suspect brawling with a police officer at a Manhattan subway station.
Two officers tried to stop two 16-year-olds who didn’t pay the fare. Words were exchanged and an officer tried to take one of the teens into custody. That’s when a fight broke out, with the video showing the 16-year-old throwing repeated punches and slamming the cop to the ground.
The teen suspect was eventually apprehended and charged. But they were later released because of the state’s bail reform law.
“If New Yorkers want to know why the chaos in the transit system is not improving more quickly — this is why. The criminals underground know they can get in a brawl, choke a cop and be back out in hours,” PBA President Pat Lynch said in a statement.
