De Blasio Drops House Bid Amid Dismal Polls

Former Mayor Bill de Blasio is ending his campaign for Congress.

He dropped out of the race for the 10th congressional House seat on Tuesday, after polls showed he had little chance of winning the Democratic primary on August 23rd.

"I’ve listened really carefully to people and it’s clear to me that when it comes to this congressional district, people are looking for another option and I respect that,” de Blasio said in a video posted on Twitter.

De Blasio left office at the end of 2021 and has been unable to find his next career. He also decided against running for governor because of low polls.

“I really want to keep serving and I’m going to find a different way to serve,” de Blasio said.
