It’s back to work for 80,000 New York City workers.
They’re returning to the office on Monday for the first time since the pandemic began more than one year ago.
“New York City will spare no effort to ensure our public servants return to workplaces that are fully equipped to keep them safe,” Mayor Bill de Blasio said in a statement.
Some city workers protested over the weekend, calling for the return to the office to be delayed until at least September. De Blasio said the city has spent more than $200 million preparing the buildings for their return.
