Mayor de Blasio wants to expand access to the vaccine to the next eligible group, but Governor Cuomo is refusing to go along with the plan.
“I know of county executives, county public health officials are just asking for the freedom to vaccinate,” Mayor de Blasio said.
The next group is known as “1-B,” which includes everyone over 75. Governor Cuomo says they don’t have enough vaccines to move onto the next group.
“1-B is over 3 million people. Again, we're getting 300,000 dosages per week, so the supply is our issue,” Cuomo said.
