NJ Police and Firefighters Can Now Get Vaccine

Beginning on Thursday, police officer and firefighters in New Jersey will be eligible to get the coronavirus vaccine.

“These are folks who have been just as much in harm's way on the frontlines as many of our healthcare workers, and they often have been called upon for emergency medical support,” Governor Phil Murphy said.

Previously, they could only be vaccinated if they were also a health care worker.

“They’ve been the ones who have had to deal with the knuckleheads, including at superspreader events,” Murphy said.
