Governor Cuomo says New York state hospitals need to increase capacity, as the stateâs positivity rate has reached 5.15 percent.
âIt is beyond critical that we ensure hospitals, and hospital systems as a whole, have developed additional capacity and are prepared to work cooperatively with each other to prevent any one facility from becoming overwhelmed,â Cuomo said.
Across the state, more than 5,000 people are hospitalized. That includes nearly 1,000 who are in the ICU.
New York state also reported 92 additional deaths on Thursday.
