Hospitalizations because of coronavirus are on the rise across New York state.
There were 878 hospitalizations in the last 24 hour reporting period, about double what it was a week earlier. Governor Cuomo says about 40 percent of those area in hot spot areas like Brooklyn, Queens, Orange and Rockland.
"In New York our strategy is to identify micro-clusters. We do more testing than any other state, so we have more data. We also are obsessive about getting incoming case numbers from the hospitals,” Governor Cuomo said.
New York has placed new restrictions on hot spots, such as shutting down nonessential businesses.
