Governor Andrew Cuomo is cracking down on parts of Brooklyn and Queens that have seen a spike in coronavirus cases.
He’s announced a “Cluster Action Initiative” that imposes new restrictions to reduce the spread.
We have what I call a COVID cluster problem. But a cluster problem is serious because a cluster problem can grow,” Governor Cuomo said.
In so-called “red zones,” nonessential businesses will be closed, mass gatherings will be banned and restaurants can only offer takeout. There’s also a limit on capacity at houses of worship.
In surrounding “orange zones,” high-risk businesses will have to close and only outdoor dining will be allowed at restaurants.
