New York Public Schools are beginning the new year with remote learning on Wednesday.
This comes ahead of in-person learning, which is scheduled to begin on Monday. Teachers have protested in recent days, saying that schools haven’t received the needed protective equipment.
The union has suggested it could move to delay the start of in-person learning. There’s also concern that there aren’t enough teachers for both in-person and remote learning.
Mayor de Blasio says schools are ready.
