NJ Cops Bring Pizza To Cheer Up Residents

Police officers in Toms River, New Jersey wanted to do something to ease cabin fever and anxiety residents may be feeling while the town is under a stay-at-home order. Officer Jesse Robertazzi came up with the idea to have a Pizza Day, providing free pies to hundreds of local families.

Three police associations made it happen and 300 pizzas were ordered from local shops, which brought them business in a time of need. Families were able to come in and pick one up for free and they were all gone in 90 minutes. The event is such a success, they’re already planning to do it again, using different pizzerias to spread the love around.

"Toms River is always coming through for us," Robertazzi says, "and we are going to come through for them.
