Joel Hatch On Being The Mayor In 'Come From Away'

On this Inside Broadway podcast, Michael Riedel and Christine Nagy chat with Joel Hatch, currently starring in Come From Away. He talks about how, after being in the show for three years, it still touches him.

"That day there were a few evil people that did some terrible things, but there were thousands of heroes. Hearing stories of some of those heroes really gives you faith that mankind isn't as terrible as it seems."

COME FROM AWAY tells the remarkable true story of 7,000 stranded passengers and the small town in Newfoundland that welcomed them. Cultures clashed and nerves ran high, but uneasiness turned into trust, music soared into the night, and gratitude grew into enduring friendships.

The show is playing at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre. You can also see Joel Hatch and other Come From Away cast members in CUT FROM AWAY THE UNTOLD STORIES & SONGS FROM COME FROM AWAY at 54 Below on Monday, February 17. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Tuesday’s Children. Tuesday’s Children provides a lifetime of healing for those whose lives have been forever changed by terrorism or traumatic loss.
