Soccer Coach In Hot Water For Taking Team To Hooters After A Loss

What better way to forget about losing a soccer match than by stuffing your face with wings at Hooters? That was the idea for one high school soccer coach but it turns out, he's in a bit of hot water now because of it.

The Lake George High School soccer team was riding high with an undefeated season until a loss to the Voorheesville Blackbirds on November 2. After a scoreless first half, Voorheesville scored on a rebound shot and then played defensively to take the match 3-0.

After the game, coach Blake White wanted to raise his team's morale, so he took the students to Hooters. That decision has sparked some controversy among parents and administrators. Blake has coached the team for 37 years.

Administrators say they have taken disciplinary action against the coach but didn't say what that was. They wanted parents to know that the dinner was "not in line with our athletic program and school community values."

Amid the controversy, Hooters picked up the tab for the team's party and then donated $1,000 to the Corbett Booster Club along with 20 percent of the sales from the location.
