“American” Company Busted For Selling Chinese-Made Tech...To The Feds

A New York-based company is being accused of selling illegally imported Chinese-made tech surveillance equipment and selling it as “Made in the USA.” Why do we care? Because the tech equipment in question was sold to branches of the American military...and allowed the Chinese to spy/hack us.

U.S. Attorney Richard Donoghue says the equipment, sold by Aventura Technologies, created serious cyber security risks. According to court documents, Aventura has held multiple contracts with the federal government, selling about $20.7-million of security equipment to the various military factions between 2006 to 2018.

In all, Donoghue says seven company senior executives, including Aventura's owner and wife, were taken into custody. Authorities said the company was in business for more than a decade and made its owners millions, by trading on national security for personal profit.
