Halloween Party Hook-Up Leaves 19-Year-Old Dead

A Halloween party hook-up left a 19-year-old woman dead and a 21-year-old man charged with reckless manslaughter.

Michael Gaffney and Francis Garcia had corresponded with each other a few times via social media before they met up Friday night at a Halloween party in Hackensack, New Jersey. The two hit it off and decided to leave the party and have a romantic rendezvous in her car.

According to an article published in the New York Post, while the young couple was in the throes of passion Garcia allegedly asked Gaffney to choke her, so he did until she passed out.

After the young woman failed to regain consciousness, Gafney called the police and waited for the authorities to arrive.

Once on the scene cops were unable to revive the young woman and she was rushed to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The medical examiner's report said Garcia died from neck compressions and her blood-alcohol level was more than three times over the legal limit.
