Homeless Advocates Hold Sleep Out

The homeless sleep out is back.

For years, homeless advocates would sleep outside in protest that not enough was being done to address the problem. That ended when Mayor Bill de Blasio was elected, because he made a commitment to affordable housing.

Last night the sleep outs returned, with advocates sleeping in City Hall Park. They claim the mayor hasn’t done enough.

The Coalition for the Homeless is calling on de Blasio to build 24,000 affordable housing units by 2026.
