Dead Body Found Stuffed In A Shopping Cart In Harlem

A man on his way to his gym in Harlem got quite the surprise when he found a dead body rolled up in a carpet and stuffed in a grocery shopping cart.

The man, who declined to be identified, called the police and told them he noticed the body because the victim's two feet were sticking out of the end of the carpet.

When police got to the scene and confirmed the man was dead, they canvassed the neighborhood and noticed several surveillance cameras in the area. After viewing the tapes, police were able to determine how the dead body ended up sitting on the sidewalk near West 145th Street and Bradhurst Avenue.

According to an article published in the New York Post, two men were spotted pushing the shopping cart with the victim jammed in it at 2:30 a.m. Thursday morning.

Police records say that the victim was wrapped in a cardboard box, and then rolled into a carpet.

The official cause of death is not known, but medics at the scene said the body showed signs of blunt force trauma to the head.
