New York Woman Uses Boyfriend's Credit Card To Leave $5000 Tip

Revenge may be a dish best served cold, but one woman’s alleged attempt to exact retribution on her boyfriend at a Florida restaurant earned herself a trip to jail. Serina Wolfe has been charged with grand theft after allegedly using her boyfriend’s credit card to leave a $5,000 tip on her breakfast tab.

The massive tip was apparently part of a woman’s plan to get back at her boyfriend, who she was angry with for not purchasing her return flight back to New York. She reportedly used her boyfriend’s credit card without his knowledge. Police in Clearwater, Florida says the couple had an argument prior to her flying back to New York because she wanted him to purchase the ticket back to her home in New York and he had refused.

The boyfriend later noticed the excessive charge on his card and confronted her about using it but she denied it, and he reported the charge as fraudulent to his credit card company. They contacted the restaurant but they had already paid out the tip to the waitress who really needed the money. Police said it will now be between the restaurant and waitress to decide whether she gets to keep the tip.

Wolfe was arrested and booked into the Pinellas County Jail on a $2,000 bond.
