Ron Burgundy Ranks The 10 Greatest Women of All Time with RuPaul on Podcast

"The Ron Burgundy Podcast"

Women's History Month and International Women's Day (March 8th) are quickly approaching, so you may be thinking about some of the female leaders that inspire you the most ... and so has Ron Burgundy — or at least he's ranked his favorite women.

On the latest episode of "The Ron Burgundy Podcast," Burgundy ranks his list of the top ten greatest women of all time, along with special guest, the one and only RuPaul.

After revealing that he recently enjoyed a night out with Diana Ross — his "Princess Di" has he refers to her — and leaving his number for her on a napkin, he never got a return phone call. So, perplexed by female psychology, the topic of his podcast episode was women. Because, as he puts it, "Women. Can't live with 'em because they won't let you. I want to investigate, what are they when you call them 30 times in a row, why don't they pick up?"

To kick things off, Ron revealed what his idea of beauty is, which is a "model with dimensions that match my favorite fruits," such as pineapples, casaba melons and kiwi. Meanwhile, RuPaul revealed that his idea of beauty isn't as clearly defined. He told Ron, "I'll know it when I see it. I don't have a set judgment of what it's gonna be before I see it. If I see it and I think it's beautiful, there it is." He adds, "And I try to do that, generally speaking, along with everything. I try to keep my mind open and not, sort of, lock into an idea."

Then, Ron revealed his ranked list of the ten greatest women of all time, and talked through them with RuPaul and Carolina. Read on below to find out who Ron Burgundy's number one gal is!

10 - Danielle Ginsberg (The Homecoming Queen of Ron's High School Senior Year)

To paint you a picture of Danielle, Burgundy compares her to Anna Kendrick. According to Ron, "She just would walk into a room and she just had real star appeal." He adds, "If she walked in through this door, you guys would go, 'I get it.'"

9 - Lassie (Baxter's choice)

FYI, Baxter also loves Angela Lansbury and Mariska Hargitay. He says of Baxter's choice, "She's just an incredibly smart. A lot of street smarts. But I think she solved a lot of crime. I mean, it makes sense because Baxter's other two loves are Angela Lansbury and Mariska Hartigay."

8 - Carolina's Sister Nora Barlow

According to Ron, Nora is "a polite, lovely woman. She's really smart. I mean, if I could have her produce this broadcast, I would in a heartbeat." He adds, "She looks like she could be in some sort of Victorian, some sort merchant ivory movie."

7 - Diana Ross

Ron's message to Diana: "Diana, this one's for you. Please call me back. I love you." He explains to RuPaul of his encounter with the music icon, "We were on a date two days ago. I can't get a hold of her. I ran into her backstage at an event for dogs that help blind people; seeing eye dogs. And, she was being honored. And, I was there to give her the award and we just started talking, and next thing you know I said, 'Hey. You doing anything tomorrow night?' And she said, 'Yes, I am. But I'll be at the Sportsman's Lodge.' I just happen to show up, so. What a talent. What a beauty."

6 - Dolores Huerta

Ron knows all about Dolores. He explained, "She's an American Labor leader and civil rights activist who, with Cesar Chavez, is a co-founder of the National Farm Workers Association, which later became the United Farm Workers. Huerta has received numerous awards for her community service and advocacy for workers, immigrants, and women's rights, including the Eugene V Debs Foundation Outstanding American Award with the United States Presidential Eleanor Roosevelt Award for human rights. And the Presidential Medal of Freedom. She was the first Latina inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame in 1993. Fun fact, Huerta is the originator of the phrase, 'Si, se pueda.'"

5 - Cheryl Tiegs

Ron's reason for including her on his list: "I mean, she's smoking."

4 - Susie Q (Of Hostess Pastry Fame)

In case you're confused about which Susie Q Ron is referring to, she is apparently the woman who makes Hostess's classic dessert, The Susie Q. He says, "She makes those little spongey chocolate cakes with the white yummy stuff inside. The woman who makes those."

Ron's other pastry chef loves include Sara Lee and Mrs. Duncan Hines (who he says is "the sexiest of them all").

3 - Tootsie

In case you're unfamiliar, Tootsie is a 1982 film. Ron says she is "one of the greatest comedic actresses of our time. It's a real shame she only made the one movie." He adds, "Wherever she is, I hope she's listening, I wish you the best."

2 - Xena: Warrior Princess

According to Ron, "She's one of the greatest weapons this country has. She currently is at Camp David, where she lives."

1 - Judge Judy

Why is Judge Judy Ron Burgundy's number one lady? Ron explains, "She runs the court room. You know, it's like, 'Who made you judge, jury, and executioner?' Well, guess what? Judge Judy is all three. She knows the law, she's got a smart hairdo, always looks her best."

Ron's Final Thoughts on Women: "Women. Who are they? They're in our houses, in our super markets, in our movies, and in our coffins. But who are they really? Where do these miraculous creatures come from? You guessed it, more women. It's like those little Russian dolls. You might never get to the bottom of the female mind. What does it look like? If it's pink or gray? And I think we've learned a lot about the female heart. And the male heart. Specifically mine. Which, thanks to Diana Ross is currently broken. But, the jokes on her because I will call her over and over again and drive down her street laying on my horn because that's how you tell a woman you love her."
