Skittles Is Putting On A Broadway Musical Instead Of A Super Bowl Ad In NYC

Super Bowl commercials are always a big deal and Skittles is known for pushing the limits with theirs. Last year the colorful candy company created an ad that was only shown to one person and this year they’re doing something completely different - they’re making a one-show-only Broadway musical. Written by Will Eno, a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in drama in 2005, the show is literally called “Skittles Commercial: The Broadway Musical.”

It’ll be performed by a 17-member cast and live band just the one time, for a live audience at The Town Hall performance Space in New York on Super Bowl Sunday, February 3rd. It may still be an ad, but at least it’s supporting a good cause. Ticket proceeds will be donated to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and Skittles will match the donation.
