Cops Look For Thief Who Took An MTA Bus On A 3 Hour Cruise

The NYPD is looking for the culprits who stole an MTA bus and took it on a three-hour cruise.

The person or persons wanted for the crime clipped the bus from where it was parked at 165th Street and South Road in Jamaica. After tracking the missing vehicle for over 3 hours via GPS the bus was found 8 miles from where it began its journey by an MTA worker who found it parked on the corner of Liberty Avenue and Conduit Boulevard.

This is the third bus heist in just over a month. The first theft took place on December 23, when six teenagers swiped a bus in the Bronx and drove it into Queens. The next public transit pinch took place the same day when a group of several men hijacked a bus from the MTA's Brooklyn depot.

According to an article in the New York Post, all three bus snatchings are linked to the MTA's recent decision to switch all buses to push-to-start ignitions.
