NJ Has 2 Most Expensive Zip Codes In U.S.

According to an annual ranking done by PropertyShark New Jersey has the two most expensive areas in the United States.

The list itself includes 117 ZIP because of many of the top 100 rankings where tied. Rankings are compiled by using closed sale home prices as opposed to asking prices. 

The number one most expensive ZIP code on the list was in Atherton, California and was one of thirty in Silicon Valley that made the 2018 list. Second on the list was in Sagaponack, New York and the third most was in Boston's Back Bay neighborhood.

The New Jersey ZIP codes that made the list are:

  • #33 Alpine, Bergen County (07620) $2,200,000
  • #100 Short Hills, Essex County (07078) $1,426,250

Overall, California had 82 ZIP codes on the list and the two cities with the priciest ZIP codes were New York and San Francisco.
