Queens Man Dies During Bloody Street Fight

A street fight in Queens left one man dead and another man, who happened to be dressed as a woman, badly wounded and in the custody of the NYPD.

Witness Daniel Mosquera said he saw a construction worker arguing with what appeared to be a transsexual woman over money.  The man dressed as a woman pulled a knife from his purse and demanded cash from the other combatant.  As the two men circled each other, the transsexual lunged and slashed the man across the throat. The slashed man wrestled the blade away from the transsexual and stabbed him once before stumbling down the sidewalk and losing consciousness.

The owner of a food cart, who wished to remain anonymous, told the New York Daily News that he called the police when the man with his throat slashed fell to the ground near his cart. The vendor added that just moments later the transsexual who was stabbed with his own knife also went down.

When the police arrived on the scene both men were laid out on the ground unconscious. EMT's rushed the injured men to a nearby hospital where the man with the slashed throat was pronounced dead.

The deadly fight which took place under the elevated 7 train on Roosevelt Avenue between 80th and 81st Street in Jackson Heights Queens is still under investigation.
