Subway Rider Left With Fractured Skull After Metal Pipe Attack

A subway rider was sent to the hospital with a fractured skull after being attacked with a metal pipe during an argument late Saturday. 

The two men were riding a southbound 2 train when they got into an argument. Bystanders gave police video of the incident, which occurred between West Broadway and Chambers Street stations in TriBeCa.

Pix11 reports the suspect was panhandling on the train when the attack occurred. 

Video shows the attacker get up and point at the victim. When the victim stands up in response, the attacker strikes him in the face with a pipe he was carrying with him on a hand truck. 

The victim was in critical condition after the incident.

The suspect reportedly got off the train at the Chambers Street station and fled on foot. 

NYPD hadn't reported an arrest in the incident as of Monday morning. 

You can see photos of the suspect above. He is described as a Hispanic man in his 20s. During the attack he was wearing a blue T-shirt and black track pants.
