Police Look For Suspects In Lottery Winner Murder

The NYPD is investigating the murder of 73-year-old Owen Dillard. Dillard was found stabbed to death in his Bronx apartment late last night.

Mr. Dillard's fiancée found the body lying on the living room floor, his head resting in a pool of dried blood from a severe stab wound to his neck. The killing is being investigated as a robbery that had gone bad due to Mr. Dillard's recent lottery win of $10,000 dollars.

Neighbors and family members told police that everyone in the neighborhood knew that Dillard had money because he was always lending it out to people and he drove a 2017 Cadillac.

Acquaintances of the victim gave statements to the police that portrayed the victim as a person who kept himself in good shape and lived quietly in his apartment with two cats and two birds.

Kathy Pagan, who lives down the hall from Dillard said "the last time she saw Mr. Dillard he was happy and smiling as usual."

Pagan said "she knew there was trouble when she saw Dillard's family members run into the building screaming and crying."

In an article published in the New York Daily News, Pagan said she had lived down the hall from the elderly gentleman for a very long time and that he had watched several kids in the building grow up and was always watching over us.

The NYPD is still looking for suspects.
