Actress Loses Unborn Child After Brooklyn Accident

A Tony Award winning actress whose daughter was killed in an accident in Brooklyn earlier this year has lost her unborn child.

Ruthie Ann Miles was injured, and her 4-year-old daughter Abigail Blumenstein was killed when they were hit by a car in Park Slope on March 5.  Another child, 1-year-old Joshua Lew, was also killed.

Miles was 30-months pregnant at the time of the accident and last Friday she lost the unborn daughter, Sophia Rosemary Wong Blumenstein.

“The pain suffered by Ruthie and Jonathan is nearly impossible to fathom,” Miles’ attorney Ben Rubinowitz said, according to the New York Post.

“As you might imagine, they are overwhelmed by the sadness of the deaths of their children. Ruthie and Jonathan are grateful for the support of their family and friends but wish and ask that their privacy be respected during this most trying time,” Rubinowtiz said.

Dorothy Bruns, who was behind the wheel of the car that hit the group, is facing manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide and other charges.  She told police that she had a medical episode that caused her to lose control of the vehicle.

Miles won a 2015 Tony for her performance in “The King and I.”
