Local authorities are investigating photographs that have popped up on a pro-Islamic website. The photos show men wearing Isis gear while posing near NYC locations.
One photo shows a man snapping a selfie in front of the World Trade Center while holding an Isis logo, another shows a man with his face covered by a scarf adorned with the Isis logo outside of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Officials say threatening photographs like these frequently show up on radical websites, with most turning out to be hoaxes.
The investigation into the people involved in the photographs is being aided by security footage recorded throughout the city and near the locations.
