Congressman Peter King is lashing out at White House Budget Director Mick Mulvaney.
“From Sandy aid to tax reform @MickMulvaneyOMB tries to screw New York. Probably feels inferior because New York subsidizes his state of South Carolina,” King tweeted.

The congressman is upset over the Republican tax plan, which eliminates local and state tax deductions. He argues that New York gives more to the federal government than it receives. Mulvaney defended the plan, saying New York’s high taxes have driven people out of state
“I don’t think it’s up to the federal government to save New York from its bad decisions,” Mulvaney said.
A number of other Republicans in New York have also come out against the party’s tax plan. They say it unfairly targets New Yorkers.
