Mets Crush Padres 5-3 in Series Opener; Reyes Steals 500th Base

The New York Mets defeated the Padres 5-3 tonight at Petco Park.

Jacob deGrom remains red hot as he picked up his twelfth win of the season. deGrom tossed eight innings allowing two runs on five hits while striking out 8.

Wilmer Flores hit another home run, Yoenis Cespedes had an RBI triple, Jay Bruce ripped two RBI single, and Travis d'Arnaud drove in Jose Reyes after Reyes stole he 500th base in his career. Addison Reed allowed a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth to Hunter Renfroe, who hit two home runs in the ball game.  

The Mets will look to win two in a row as Seth Lugo takes the hill on Tuesday night at 10:10 PM; Coverage on WOR begins at 6:05 PM with Pete McCarthy and Sal Licata in the 'WOR Sports Zone'.
