A toddler left in the care of his 13-year-old sister is lucky to be alive after falling from the family's third floor balcony.
The child's mother was sleeping and his father was taking a shower when the baby and his sister were out enjoying the beautiful day on their patio. The toddler's 13-year-old sister stepped inside the apartment for a moment and before she could return the 1-year-old climbed a chair and took a header over the railing.
Authorities say the boy landed on the grass just a few feet away from a spiked metal fence.
A security guard from the complex said the child was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.
