LISTEN: Gsellman Tosses 7 Strong in Mets 4-2 Win

The Mets defeated the Brewers 4-2 this afternoon in a Memorial Day matinee at Citi Field.

Robert Gsellman was solid over seven innings allowing just two runs, one earned, on three hits while striking out five. He was also helpful at the plate driving in a run on a sac fly and then drawing a bases loaded walk to give the Mets a 4-2 advantage.

Rene Rivera and Michael Conforto both drove in runs on RBI doubles off Milwaukee's starter Matt Garza who allowed all four Mets runs on seven hits in the loss.

Paul Sewald struck out two in a scoreless eighth, and Addison Reed allowed the first two runners on in the ninth, but would pick up the save striking out a pair in the ninth. Tyler Pill will make the start for the Mets on Tuesday night. Coverage on WOR at 6:05 pm with Pete McCarthy.
