The Mets returned to Citi Field tonight after a brutal 0-6 road trip and got a big 3-0 win behind Jacob deGrom.
deGrom was great tonight shutting out the Angels over seven innings. He struck out nine and only allowed four hits. In the top of the seventh he loaded the bases, but Terry Collins stuck with him and he was able to escape.
Michael Conforto scored a run on a Curtis Granderson RBI double, and then added some insurance for the Mets with a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh. Rene Rivera extended his hitting streak to 11 games with an RBI single in the sixth.
