Mets Blow 7-1 Lead & Lose 11-9 in Milwaukee

It was another bloody Sunday for the New York Mets as they blew a 7-1 lead to fall 11-9 to the Brewers. It was the Mets fourth straight loss.

Jacob deGrom was solid pitching into the seventh inning, he allowed four runs on eight hits while striking out seven.

It was up to the bullpen to protect the lead for the Mets and they were not up to the task.

Jerry Blevins allowed a 2-run home run to Jonathan Villar which cut the Mets lead to 8-5, then Fernando Salas surrendered an RBI single to Jesus Aguilar and it was 8-6. The Mets would add a run thanks to a TJ Rivera triple which plated Juan Lagares, but it was not enough for the Mets pen.

In the bottom of the eighth, Hernan Perez hit a 2-run double off Addison Reed before Reed would allow the big blow of the game, a 3-run blast to Manny Pina giving the Brewers an 11-9 lead.

The Mets are off to Phoenix to begin three with the Diamondbacks. Coverage on WOR begins at 8:30 pm with "Mets on Deck".
