A Flores Bobble + Familia Struggle = Mets 6-5 Loss to Giants

The Mets had a lead for most of the game but came up short to the Giants 6-5 in the series finale. Newly acquired lefty Tommy Milone took the mound and pitched well through 5 innings allowing just two runs. He also drove in the Mets third run of the day in the fourth.

Terry Collins used five different relief pitchers to bridge the gap to Jeurys Familia in the ninth, however Familia was less than sharp allowing 4 runs and getting just one out.

The Mets would rally in the bottom of the inning as both TJ Rivera and Neil Walker scored when Wilmer Flores doubled to center. But it would not be enough as Kevin Plawecki grounded out to end the game.

The Mets have the day off tomorrow. They visit the Brewers on Friday in Milwaukee to start a three game set. Coverage on WOR at 6:05 pm with Pete McCarthy & the WOR Sports Zone. Matt Harvey will start for the Mets.
