One person is dead and two others became ill in the Bronx after contracting a disease known as Leptospirosis.
The cases were contracted in a one block radius in the Concourse section. The disease is commonly spread through contact with rat urine.
One of the three victims died from the disease. The other two recovered and have been released from the hospital.
Health officials are expected to hold an emergency meeting with Bronx residents on Wednesday night.
