D.E.P Worker Loses 6 Figure Job For Stealing Scrap Metal

Thomas Maloney worked for the New York Department of Environmental Protection for 15 years.

He lost his job after pleading guilty to stealing 11,328 pounds of metal from the Brooklyn treatment plant.

The value of the stolen metal totaled $13,700 dollars.

Mr. Maloney admitted that he unlawfully removed D.E.P. property from January 2015 to October of 2016.

Maloney agreed to resign his $120,000 a year job and repay the $13,700. He will also serve 7 days of community service.
