The "Anyone But Mamdani" Chorus Grows Louder With Charges Of Anti-Semitism

Opponents and critics are starting to turn up the volume against Zohran Mamdani now that the charismatic State Assemblyman is the Democratic candidate for mayor of New York. Current mayor Eric Adams has blasted Mamdani for not delivering on his wish list of free stuff while he was in Albany. Adams, appearing on a podcast, also joined the anti-Mamdani chorus accusing him of anti-Semitism. Former New York State Assemblyman and founder of Americans Against Anti-Semitism Dov Hikind has been a loud soprano in that chorus since Mamdani began campaigning in February. He appeared on 710 WOR’s Mendte in the Morning program to list the reasons why he believes a vote for Mamdani means approval to rip apart the social fabric of the city.

“This is an important moment, not just for New York,” Hikind told host Larry Mendte. “The country, the nation, is watching what happens in New York. One thing, we must defeat Mamdani. There is no question about it. We need to take him seriously.  He’s smart- in fact, he’s more than smart. Just yesterday, he talked about additional funds to fight anti-Semitism. Well, the best way to fight anti-Semitism is to have him disappear.”

The campaigning will start to pick up in intensity around Labor Day. While Hikind is backing Curtis Sliwa for mayor, he stresses that Mamdani can be stopped if New Yorkers back one candidate in the fall from the group of Sliwa, Adams and Andrew Cuomo. “Everybody has a chance to work for two months; let’s see what you can do, look at the polls, watch the polls. At the end of the day, everyone has to get off their high horse… and support one single person.”
