Cannabis Edibles Pose Halloween Threat Says Nassau County Executive

Len Berman and Michael Riedel talked with Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman about Halloween safety. Blakeman says he prefers costumed Halloween parties supervised by parents over trick-or-treating. Blakeman explained his reasons, "We don't know our neighbors anymore, so parents have to be on guard with where their children go and what they consume before the treats have been properly checked out. Blakeman also warned parents of kids who do go out trick or treating to be on the lookout for cannabis edibles, "they are packaged to look like regular candy and can easily be mistaken for a delicious treat." Blakeman told Len and Michael he uses the Halloween candy rule, "If in doubt, throw it out.
