Congressman Kim Tells Larry Mendte They Considered Saving McCarthy's Job

There was a chance that former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy could have kept his job, but he refused to meet with Democrats.

"It was discussed. It was a possibility leading up to that day," Congressman Andy Kim told WOR's Larry Mendte on "The WOR Saturday Morning Show."

There was a movement by eight House Republicans to remove McCarthy from power. Democrats ultimately chose to vote to remove McCarthy, rather than keep him in power, because McCarthy rejected their invitation to speak to them.

"He never came to us," Kim said.
