Concha: Trump "Looks Like a Coward" If He Maintains His Current Strategy

Former President Donald Trump has called a press conference for Monday to reveal “irrefutable evidence” that proves he did not try to overturn the results of the 2020 election. Is this a sound strategy? Not really, according to Fox News contributor Joe Concha. Speaking on 710 WOR’s Len Berman and Michael Riedel in the Morning program, Concha believes that strategy only creates a winning hand for the Democrats next year.

“I think he needs to say, ‘Look, I’ve said what I had to say about 2020. You all know where I stand. You all know what I think happened. However, I’m here to talk about saving the country, about 2024,’” Concha told Berman and Riedel. “Instead, he has now taken the bait… and after three years where we’ve seen no evidence of any real capacity…it’s just gonna give this story life after life, and that’s the whole point here.”

Concha also thinks Trump’s decision to sit out the first GOP debate next week in Milwaukee is another move that the 45th President should reconsider. “He’s probably leaning towards not doing it because he says, ‘Well, I have such a big lead for the nomination; why should I get down and dirty with all these other folks who have no chance?’ That’s not the point. The point is, you’re never gonna get an audience like this again…you’ve got to appeal to them and say, ‘This is what I can do to make your lives better.’”

Concha hammered that point home with a word people don’t normally associate with the bombastic Trump: “If he decides, ‘I’m not going to do it,’ he looks like a coward-I’m sorry, I’m gonna use the word-he looks like a coward if he doesn’t go on that debate stage next week, because people vote for Donald Trump because he’s a street fighter, and when he decides ‘I’m not going to do it because I want to protect my lead,’ that’s not Donald Trump… come on, man!”
