Reporter Didn't Believe Arrest Would Be Made in Gilgo Beach Case

Len Berman and Michael Riedel talked with Erin Moriarty from the CBS show 48 Hours about the Gilgo Beach murders. Erin, who had worked on the case for over 10 years, told the guys that she didn't believe an arrest would ever be made and credited the police for finally tracking Heuerman down. At the start of the investigation, Erin said police checked out so many tips it slowed the investigation. Len and Michael asked Erin if the media let the story die down because the missing women were prostitutes. Erin said she met with the victims' families and was told these women had jobs but turned to prostitution on a part-time basis to earn enough money to care for their kids and families.
