Are Union Costs Slowing Broadway’s Bounce Back?

Len and Michael talked with Jed Bernstein, the former President of the Broadway League. Jed and the guys discussed if the Tony Awards will be canceled because of the writers' strike. Jed doesn't think the Broadway folks will allow the one night they reach the entire nation to be canceled. One worry Jed has is if the Tony Awards are broadcasted, how the presenters will address trans-actors if they win an award. They also hit on the outrageous costs of putting on a Broadway play. Jed thinks union contracts must be renegotiated if Broadway wants to recover from the Covid Pandemic.
