Recreational Marijuana Sales Begin in Connecticut

Beginning on Tuesday, people in Connecticut can legally buy recreational marijuana.

Nine medical marijuana dispensaries have been given licenses to sell pot to anyone 21 years or older. Buyers will be able to purchase a quarter ounce of cannabis flower or its equivalent at a time.

“It will help eliminate the dangerous, unregulated market and support a new and equitable sector of our economy that will create jobs,” Governor Ned Lamont said when he legalized it.

Two weeks ago, the state moved to erase low-level convictions for possession.
