NY Roosevelt Statue Removed From Museum

A statue of former President Teddy Roosevelt is no longer outside a New York City museum. Crews hauled away most of it and will remove the final pieces within days. The bronze statue had been in front of the American Museum of Natural History since 1940 but was seen by some as a symbol of colonialism and racism. It will be sent to North Dakota in a few weeks, where the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library is set to open in 2026.
