Newark Airport Cancels 370 Flights Due To Severe Flooding In Terminals

370 flights have been cancelled at Newark Liberty International Airport today due to severe flooding as a result of the record amount of rainfall Hurricane Ida dumped on New York and New Jersey.

The cancellations, according to CNBC, accounted for more than a third of the schedule at the airport. With Newark being a United Airlines hub, the cancelled flights make up 11% of United’s Thursday schedule.

Videos on social media show flooding of the lower level of Terminal B and the baggage claim area.

The airport is urging customers to check with their airlines for the status of their upcoming flights.
