Animal Rights Group Upset With Carriage Horse Treatment

Edita Birnkrant, executive director of New Yorkers for Clean, Livable and Safe Streets or NYCLASS has filed a complaint with Mayor de Blasio's office over the treatment of a carriage horse

Binkrant claims a horse she saw working near Central Park was too thin, emaciated, and had visible open sores. A spokesperson for the mayor's office informed Binkrant that a veterinarian would be checking on the horse, but as of Monday the horse was seen working again and his condition had not improved.
