Man Smashes Windshield With Bat In Staten Island Road Rage Incident

Road rage is very real, but a driver on the Staten Island Expressway took it to another level last week. A man who tried to pass the driver of a truck on the shoulder of the highway was forced back into the lane by a traffic cone marking a pothole; when he merged back, the rear driver’s side of his vehicle hit the front passenger side of the truck. The driver of the car then jumped out, and a video shot from inside the truck shows him yelling “You’re not gonna pay for my car?” before attacking the truck’s front end and windshield with a baseball bat, then running back to his vehicle and leaving. The anonymous driver of the truck, whose nine and eleven-year-old sons were in the backseat, is a retired member of the military but says he stayed calm because of his kids. He hopes the video will help police identify the man.
