GM Dave Gettleman: Giants 'Open For Business' For No. 4 Pick

There are three incredibly talented QB’s in this year’s draft and the Giants know at least one of them will be available when they pick at Number 4.

But the G-men have found their franchise QB in Daniel Jones, so they know they won’t need to call on any of them.

Which is why they are hoping NFL teams will call on them—as evidenced by GM Dave Gettleman announcing yesterday that the Giants are "open for business."

"Absolutely we're open for business," Gettleman said yesterday.

The Giants—and the Detroit Lions who pick at Number 3 and also aren’t looking for a QB—appear to be in the sweet spot if the draft plays out as expected at the top and quarterback-needy clubs fall in love with Alabama's Tua Tagovailoa or Oregon's Justin Herbert. That would make the third and/or fourth picks especially valuable.

"There are a lot of high-graded players," Gettleman said. "I'll tell you that right up front. I'm excited to see where the board ends up. It's a pretty strong draft. It really is."

The Giants haven’t traded down just once sine the current draft started in 1967—but this year may be the perfect setup. The Giants drafted a Jones last year with the Number 6 overall pick. Even though Gettleman and coach Joe Judge wouldn't actually say that Jones is their unequivocal starter.

And you know what would make him even better—a few offensive lineman and extra draft picks the team could get in a trade.

Expect the Giants to make a giant move on come April.
