Distracted Driver, 2 Kids Lucky To Be Alive After Driving Into NJ Lake

A 35-year-old woman and her two children are lucky to be alive after she became distracted by her GPS and drove into a lake.

The driver, whose name was not released, told law enforcement authorities that she was adjusting her GPS when her vehicle left the road and plunged into Lake Parsippany in northern New Jersey.

According to a story on nbcnewyork.com, the woman and her two children were able to free themselves from the vehicle before emergency crews responded to the accident.

The woman was issued a citation for careless driving.
