The NYPD will be keeping a close watch at synagogues around the city for Yom Kippur.
The police department has stepped up security with extra officers and squad cars on the job. They will be securing the Jewish houses of worship around the clock.
Anti-Semitic crimes are up more than 50 percent this year compared to 2018.
